Privacy Policy

DarkRomanceWrite is operated by Lilith Studios LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Lilith Studios is responsible for the personal information handled under this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to information handled through the Service and through communications you send to us about your account or use of DarkRomanceWrite.

It does not apply to an unaffiliated website or service that you choose to visit outside DarkRomanceWrite. When a third-party provider collects information directly from you, such as through a future payment checkout or optional third-party sign-in method, that provider's privacy policy may also apply to the information it collects.

Our Terms of Use govern your use of the Service. Our AI Policy provides additional information about AI-assisted features, and our Data Deletion Policy explains the available deletion processes in greater detail.

DarkRomanceWrite is built around the following commitments:

• Your protected manuscript workspace is private. Lilith Studios personnel, including support staff, administrators, and company leadership, cannot open or read the protected manuscript content stored in your workspace.
• AI processing is automated. When you request an AI-assisted operation, the relevant text is processed automatically by the systems needed to perform that request. This automated processing is not human manuscript review.
• Your writing is not training data. Neither Lilith Studios nor its AI providers may use your manuscript, Story Bible, prompts, or other User Content to train AI models.
• AI requests use privacy-protected routing. Covered AI requests require provider data collection to be denied and Zero Data Retention to be enabled. If no compliant route is available, the request is not sent.
• We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use your manuscript for advertising.
• We do not track you across unrelated services for targeted advertising. DarkRomanceWrite does not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
• We limit collection and use. We collect and use personal information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Service, protecting accounts, preventing fraud, supporting users, and meeting legal obligations.
• You retain control. You can edit, export, or delete your writing through the available Service controls and can permanently delete your account through the authenticated deletion process.

If you voluntarily include an excerpt or other material in a message to support, privacy, security, billing, or legal personnel, the recipient can read only the material you choose to send. You are never required to send an entire manuscript.

DarkRomanceWrite is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old.

During account creation, we collect your birth year and, when needed to determine whether you have reached age 18, your birth month and day. We also record your adult declaration, the date of confirmation, and the applicable age-gate version.

This age information:

• is used to verify eligibility for the Service;
• is not displayed publicly;
• is not sent to AI providers; and
• is not used for advertising or profiling.

We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to maintain an account. If we learn that personal information was submitted by or for a person under 18, we may suspend the account and delete the information as appropriate. A parent, guardian, or other person with relevant information may contact us at privacy@darkromancewrite.com.

Account and profile information

When you create or manage an account, you may provide:

• an author name, display name, or pen name;
• an email address;
• authentication credentials;
• your birth year and, when needed for age verification, your birth month and day;
• your adult declaration;
• account settings, profile details, and plan-related preferences; and
• your acceptance of our Terms of Use and acknowledgment of this Privacy Policy.

We keep a record of the applicable Terms and Privacy Policy versions, the server-recorded acceptance time, and the signup method associated with that acceptance.

If you choose an optional third-party sign-in method, we may receive an account identifier, email address, and limited profile information from that provider. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not stored by Lilith Studios in readable form.

User Content and writing information

You may create, submit, import, or store prompts, project settings, Story Bible material, characters, settings, outlines, notes, scenes, chapters, drafts, manuscripts, revision histories, imported files, instructions, and AI-generated Output that you choose to retain.

Fiction may explore intimate, violent, traumatic, health-related, political, religious, or other sensitive themes. We do not treat fictional material as a factual statement about your identity, health, beliefs, sexual orientation, or personal life, and we do not use it to create advertising profiles.

Communications and support information

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message, account or billing details, and any attachment, screenshot, or excerpt you voluntarily include.

You are never required to provide an entire manuscript. If an excerpt is reasonably necessary to explain an issue, you control what you send and the recipient can read only that submitted material.

Feedback and preferences

We may receive feedback, survey responses, feature requests, ratings, and preferences that you choose to submit. Product feedback does not include your manuscript or other User Content unless you deliberately include material in the feedback.

Payment and subscription information

When you purchase a paid plan or Soma Pack, Stripe collects your payment credentials, name, and complete billing address, including street address, city, state, province or region, postal code, and country, directly through Stripe-hosted Checkout. Stripe uses this information to process the transaction, determine applicable taxes, prevent fraud, issue billing documents, and support renewals. Lilith Studios may receive limited transaction and subscription information, such as:

• a payment-provider customer identifier;
• your selected plan and applicable price identifier;
• the amount, currency, and billing interval;
• subscription, invoice, payment, refund, and cancellation identifiers or status;
• billing country and relevant tax information; and
• transaction, renewal, cancellation, and refund dates.

Lilith Studios does not receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code.

Lilith Studios does not copy your complete billing address into its normalized Finance tables, operational logs, provider proofs, or audit records. A signed Stripe webhook event may contain information collected at Checkout. The exact event payload is encrypted before storage, assigned a 29-day retention period subject to a 30-day ingestion ceiling, and purged by the scheduled Finance process. Address-free normalized transaction evidence may remain for the financial-record periods described below.

Stripe may retain and update the billing address on your Stripe Customer profile under Stripe's privacy terms. You can review or update that information through the Stripe Customer Portal when available.

Device, network, and request information

When you use the Service, our systems and infrastructure providers may automatically process technical information such as:

• your Internet Protocol address or a limited network prefix;
• browser type, device type, operating system, language, and time zone;
• request dates and times;
• pages and features requested;
• technical headers;
• response status, performance, and security signals;
• authentication events; and
• structured error and reliability information.

Infrastructure providers may process an IP address and related browser signals to deliver the Service, route traffic, prevent abuse, apply rate limits, and protect accounts and systems.

Authentication and session information

We process information needed to maintain account sessions, including a user identifier, authentication method, login and logout times, session and refresh tokens, token expiration information, failed authentication attempts, and related security events. Authentication tokens may be stored in your browser to keep you signed in.

Service, AI-operation, and Soma information

To deliver requested features, enforce plan limits, maintain the Soma system, and monitor reliability, we may process structured operational information such as:

• account, project, request, and transaction identifiers;
• the feature, model, and provider used;
• input and output token counts and word counts;
• estimated Soma amounts, balances, grants, lots, reservations, settlements, releases, expirations, and transaction records;
• provider-cost and service-limit information;
• request status, duration, continuation count, and structured reason codes;
• provider request identifiers; and
• sanitized error categories.

Our diagnostic records are designed to reject prompts, manuscript text, full AI responses, narrative prose, and unrestricted free-form error messages.

Trial eligibility and anti-fraud information

When a trial or limited promotional benefit is available, we may briefly process a normalized email address, a generated device identifier, a limited IP network prefix, a security-challenge token, and eligibility signals to prevent duplicate or abusive claims.

The dedicated trial record retains cryptographic hashes derived from limited identifiers rather than the raw email address, device identifier, IP prefix, or challenge token. A security-challenge provider may separately process the challenge token, IP address, browser information, and related signals under its own privacy notice.

Browser storage

DarkRomanceWrite uses browser storage to operate the Service. Depending on the feature and your activity, this storage may contain:

• authentication-session information;
• projects and Story Bible information;
• manuscript text, revision history, and drafts;
• offline or interrupted work;
• synchronization and recovery queues;
• quarantined unsynchronized work used to prevent one account from seeing another account's local data; and
• interface and account preferences.

Some information is synchronized with our hosted systems, while unsynchronized work may remain only in the browser until it is synchronized, exported, cleared, or deleted. Browser storage is used for Service functionality and account isolation, not for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We obtain personal information:

• directly from you when you create an account, use the Service, submit User Content, change settings, make a purchase, or contact us;
• automatically from your browser, device, and network when you use the Service;
• from authentication providers when you choose a supported sign-in method;
• from Stripe when you complete a paid transaction; and
• from AI and infrastructure providers through the technical status, performance, security, and transaction information needed to deliver and protect the Service.

We do not purchase personal information from data brokers, scrape public sources to build profiles about users, or obtain personal information from joint marketing partners.

We use personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

• create, authenticate, secure, and manage your account;
• confirm that you meet the Service's age requirement;
• record and administer your acceptance of our legal terms;
• provide the writing, organization, synchronization, recovery, export, and deletion features you request;
• process your AI-assisted requests and return the resulting Output;
• operate Story Bible, project, chapter, scene, and revision-history features;
• calculate and administer Somas, plan limits, usage allowances, and provider costs;
• process subscriptions, payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds;
• respond to support, privacy, security, billing, and legal communications;
• prevent fraud, duplicate trial claims, unauthorized access, technical abuse, and security incidents;
• diagnose failures and improve the reliability, security, accessibility, and performance of the Service using structured operational information that excludes manuscript content;
• enforce our Terms of Use and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, Lilith Studios, and the Service; and
• comply with applicable law and valid legal obligations.

We may aggregate or deidentify operational information so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to an individual. We do not attempt to reidentify information that we maintain as deidentified.

We do not use User Content to train or improve AI models, build advertising profiles, target advertisements, or sell personal information.

If we materially change how we use personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or choice required by applicable law.

Your protected manuscript workspace is private. Lilith Studios personnel — including support staff, administrators, contractors, and company leadership — cannot open or read the protected manuscript content stored in that workspace.

The Service necessarily performs automated machine processing to save, synchronize, recover, organize, export, or generate material at your direction. A machine processing text to perform a feature you requested is not human access or human manuscript review.

DarkRomanceWrite does not provide personnel with an administrative or support interface for opening protected manuscripts. Security, fraud, reliability, and Terms-enforcement processes use account information, technical events, structured metadata, and other non-narrative signals without creating a manuscript-reading path for personnel.

When you request an AI-assisted feature, only the instructions and contextual material reasonably required to perform that operation are processed. Depending on the feature, this may include relevant prompts, Story Bible information, notes, scene or chapter material, or other context you selected or stored for that purpose.

The narrow exception is information you deliberately send outside your protected workspace. If you voluntarily copy an excerpt into a support, privacy, security, billing, or legal communication, the recipient can read that submitted excerpt. You control what you send and are never required to provide an entire manuscript.

When you request AI assistance, the relevant instructions and writing context are transmitted automatically through our protected AI-routing system to the selected AI model provider for the sole purpose of completing your request.

Covered AI requests enforce both of the following requirements:

• provider data collection must be denied; and
• Zero Data Retention must be enabled.

These controls restrict routing to compliant endpoints that do not retain the submitted prompt or resulting Output after processing. The transient machine processing needed to complete the request is not human review.

If no compliant endpoint is available, the request fails closed: it is not sent through a less-private route merely to obtain a result.

Neither Lilith Studios, the AI-routing provider, nor the selected AI model provider may use your prompts, manuscript, Story Bible, other User Content, or Output to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or improve AI models or products.

We may retain limited non-content operational metadata needed to administer the Service, such as the model and provider used, token counts, timing, status, cost, Soma operation, and technical request identifier. Our diagnostic systems are designed not to retain the prompt, manuscript text, or full AI response.

AI models and providers may change over time for reasons such as availability, privacy, security, quality, or performance. Any replacement used for covered AI requests must remain subject to the privacy protections stated in this Policy.

AI-generated Output is a creative suggestion. It is not automatically added to your manuscript, submitted for publication, or shared with another person. You decide whether to accept, edit, save, export, or discard it.

DarkRomanceWrite does not use AI to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

The Service may use automated controls to:

• verify age eligibility based on the birth information you provide;
• determine trial or promotional eligibility;
• apply plan, Soma, and usage limits;
• detect suspected fraud, account compromise, or technical abuse;
• require reauthentication or a security challenge; and
• select a privacy-compliant AI route.

These controls may deny a trial, pause a request, require additional authentication, or restrict an account when the applicable conditions are not met.

If you believe an automated account, trial, or security control was applied incorrectly, you may contact support@darkromancewrite.com. Any investigation can be conducted using account and technical information without giving support personnel access to your protected manuscript.

We do not use automated profiling to serve advertising or to infer sensitive characteristics from your fictional writing.

Lilith Studios discloses personal information only as described below and only to the extent reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

Service providers

We use carefully selected service providers to operate and protect DarkRomanceWrite. Depending on their function, these providers may automatically process limited categories of information:

• Cloud hosting and database providers: account information, User Content, browser synchronization data, and technical records needed to host and deliver the Service.
• Authentication and security providers: email address, user identifier, authentication method, session information, IP address, browser signals, security-challenge information, and security events.
• AI-routing and model providers: only the instructions, writing context, and technical metadata required to complete the AI-assisted operation you request, subject to the protections in Section 9.
• Payment and subscription providers: payment credentials, customer name, complete billing address, subscription, transaction, and tax information through Stripe's hosted payment and billing services.
• Communications providers: your email address, delivery information, and the contents of messages needed to send account, security, billing, support, or service communications.
• Professional advisers: limited business, financial, security, or legal information reasonably necessary for accounting, insurance, auditing, legal advice, or the handling of a specific claim. Protected manuscript content is not provided for these purposes.

Service providers may process information only for their assigned functions and subject to the contractual, technical, and legal safeguards applicable to their role. They are not authorized to use your manuscript for advertising or AI training.

When a provider collects information directly from you, such as through an optional sign-in method or payment checkout, its own privacy notice may also apply to that direct collection.

Legal obligations, safety, and enforcement

We may preserve or disclose information lawfully available to us when we reasonably believe that doing so is necessary to:

• comply with a valid subpoena, court order, or other binding legal requirement;
• respond to a lawful request from a competent public authority;
• protect the security and integrity of the Service;
• investigate fraud, unauthorized access, or a security incident;
• prevent imminent harm; or
• establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We evaluate legal requests and may seek to narrow, challenge, or reject requests that are invalid, excessive, or inconsistent with applicable law. These circumstances do not create an administrative manuscript-reading path for Lilith Studios personnel.

Business transactions

If Lilith Studios is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of its business or assets, information associated with the Service may be reviewed or transferred as part of that transaction.

Any recipient must protect the information under appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards. This Privacy Policy will continue to apply unless users receive notice of a replacement policy as required by law.

At your direction

We may disclose information when you deliberately direct the Service to send, export, connect, or make information available to a third party. We will identify the relevant action before the transfer where appropriate.

Downloading or exporting a manuscript to your own device does not make it public. You remain responsible for the third-party applications, devices, or destinations you choose after the export leaves DarkRomanceWrite.

Lilith Studios does not and has not:

• sold personal information for money or other valuable consideration;
• shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;
• used manuscript content for advertising;
• provided personal information to data brokers;
• permitted third-party advertising networks to track users through the Service; or
• knowingly sold or shared the personal information of anyone under 16.

Because DarkRomanceWrite does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, there is no sale or advertising-related sharing from which you need to opt out.

If these practices ever materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide the notice and controls required by applicable law before beginning the new practice.

DarkRomanceWrite may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar browser technologies that are necessary or reasonably required to:

• authenticate users and maintain secure sessions;
• remember account and interface preferences;
• protect accounts and prevent fraud;
• perform security challenges;
• route and balance requests;
• preserve, synchronize, quarantine, or recover work;
• diagnose technical failures; and
• measure aggregate Service reliability and performance using non-narrative operational information.

We do not use advertising cookies, advertising pixels, or device fingerprinting for advertising. We do not permit third-party analytics services to track your activity across unrelated websites or applications for targeted advertising.

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies and browser storage. Blocking technologies needed for authentication, account isolation, security, synchronization, or recovery may prevent parts of the Service from functioning correctly or may remove locally stored unsynchronized work.

Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals. Because DarkRomanceWrite does not track your activity over time across unrelated services for targeted advertising, a Do Not Track signal does not change the essential processing described in this Policy.

Where a legally recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, applies to a covered processing activity, we will process that signal as required by applicable law. Under our present practices, we do not sell or share personal information for the advertising purposes addressed by those signals.

Service providers do not receive permission from Lilith Studios to collect your activity through DarkRomanceWrite over time and across unrelated services for advertising. A provider may separately collect information when you independently visit or use its own website or service, subject to its own privacy policy.

Lilith Studios is a United States company, and DarkRomanceWrite's primary hosted systems are located in the United States.

Our infrastructure, authentication, security, communications, payment, AI-routing, and model providers may process information from locations in the United States or other countries where they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

We use contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the provider's role and the information processed. AI-assisted requests remain subject to the no-data-collection and Zero Data Retention controls described in Section 9 regardless of the compliant model or endpoint selected.

The Service may contain links to unaffiliated websites or services. Lilith Studios does not control their privacy practices, and this Privacy Policy does not apply after you choose to leave DarkRomanceWrite or provide information directly to an unaffiliated third party.

Lilith Studios uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, and destruction.

These safeguards include, as appropriate:

• encryption of hosted information in transit and at rest;
• owner-based database access controls that restrict each user to their own narrative records;
• no cross-user manuscript access for application administrators;
• server-only handling of privileged account and deletion operations;
• additional authentication requirements for privileged administrative functions;
• session controls and recent reauthentication for sensitive account actions;
• security challenges, rate limits, and anti-fraud controls;
• separation of public, authenticated, administrative, and server-only functions;
• diagnostic controls designed to exclude manuscript text, prompts, and full AI responses;
• privacy-restricted AI routing and Zero Data Retention;
• dependency, deployment, migration, and security testing; and
• controlled backup and recovery procedures.

Protected manuscript content stored in our hosted database is encrypted by the hosting provider while stored and during transmission. This is encryption at rest and in transit; it is not end-to-end encryption because the Service must be able to process text automatically when you request synchronization, recovery, export, or AI assistance.

Browser-stored information is also protected by the security of your device, browser profile, operating system, and account. You should use a strong password, protect access to your email account and devices, sign out on shared devices, and keep your browser and operating system updated.

No security system can eliminate every risk. If you believe your account or information may have been compromised, contact security@darkromancewrite.com promptly.

If we confirm a security incident affecting personal information, we will investigate, contain, and remediate the incident and provide legally required notices to affected individuals or authorities.

We retain personal information only for the shortest period reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Service, protecting accounts, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, maintaining financial integrity, and complying with legal obligations.

The applicable retention period depends on the type of information and why it is needed:

• Account and profile information: retained while your account remains active and removed from active systems when account deletion is completed, subject to the limited exceptions below.
• User Content: retained while you keep the relevant content or account in the Service. Project and account deletion controls remove the associated manuscript, Story Bible, scene, chapter, draft, and revision-history records from active hosted systems.
• Unsynchronized browser data: retained on the applicable device until it is synchronized, exported, cleared, deleted, quarantined after an account change, or removed through browser or account controls.
• Support and other communications: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain an appropriate record, protect security, or resolve a dispute.
• Legal acceptance records: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to document the applicable agreement, demonstrate compliance, or resolve a legal claim.
• Operational and security information: retained only for the period reasonably necessary to maintain reliability, investigate incidents, prevent abuse, enforce limits, and protect the Service.
• Trial anti-fraud evidence: irreversibly detached, hash-only evidence may be retained for no more than 24 months after account deletion or the last related trial attempt, whichever is later.
• Closed Soma and provider-cost evidence: irreversibly detached, hash-only evidence relating to settled, released, or failed operations may be retained for no more than 24 months after the operation is closed.
• Diagnostic purge evidence: irreversibly detached, hash-only evidence may be retained for no more than 12 months after the related approved purge.
• Payment, tax, and accounting records: limited transaction records may be retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, chargeback, fraud-prevention, and financial-record laws.
• Stripe webhook event payloads: the exact signed event is encrypted before storage, assigned a 29-day retention period subject to a 30-day ingestion ceiling, and purged by the scheduled Finance process. Address-free normalized evidence may remain under the financial-record periods above.

Detached retention evidence does not contain manuscript text, a raw email address, a raw IP address, or the former user, project, or chapter identifier. It uses an opaque deletion reference with no reverse-mapping table.

Information held in secure disaster-recovery backups may remain until the applicable backup is overwritten under the provider's controlled backup cycle. Backup copies are isolated from ordinary Service operations and are used only for recovery, continuity, and security purposes.

We may retain information for a longer period when required by a binding legal obligation, valid preservation requirement, unresolved payment dispute, security investigation, or legal claim. Any such retention is limited to the information and period reasonably necessary for that purpose.

Information that has been aggregated or deidentified so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to an individual may be retained for legitimate analytical, security, and reliability purposes.

You can delete individual projects or other available content through the Service controls. You can also permanently delete your account through the authenticated account-deletion process.

For security, permanent account deletion requires:

• an authenticated request;
• the exact confirmation requested by the interface; and
• recent reauthentication rather than only an older renewed session.

When confirmed account deletion is completed:

• active sessions are revoked;
• the authentication identity, linked sign-in identities, and authentication factors are deleted;
• profile information, application roles, and account-access records are deleted;
• projects, Story Bible records and histories, chapters and histories, scenes and histories, drafts, and other hosted narrative records are deleted;
• active generation diagnostics linked to the account are deleted;
• active Soma balances, lots, reservations, and ordinary transaction records are deleted; and
• active browser caches and drafts on the device performing the deletion are cleared after the available export opportunity.

The limited detached hash evidence described in Section 16 may remain until its applicable maximum retention period expires. That evidence cannot be used to reopen the account or retrieve the deleted manuscript.

Account deletion is irreversible. You should export any work you wish to keep before confirming deletion.

Deleting an account clears covered local information from the browser performing the deletion. Copies that you previously downloaded, exported, or stored on another device or browser profile remain under your control and must be deleted by you if you no longer want them.

Secure backup copies expire through the controlled backup cycle described in Section 16. If a backup must be restored for disaster recovery, deletion and retention controls will be reapplied before restored information is returned to ordinary Service use where technically applicable.

If you cannot access the authenticated deletion controls, you may contact privacy@darkromancewrite.com. We may request limited information necessary to verify the account and protect it against unauthorized deletion.

Additional operational details are provided in our Data Deletion Policy.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you certain rights regarding your personal information. DarkRomanceWrite provides practical methods for exercising the following rights where reasonably applicable:

• Access and know: request information about the personal information we maintain about you, including its categories, sources, purposes, and recipients.
• Correction: request correction of inaccurate account or personal information.
• Deletion: delete available content, permanently delete your account, or request deletion of other eligible personal information.
• Portability: obtain available account information or User Content in a portable format.
• Restriction or limitation: request that certain processing be restricted where applicable law provides that right.
• Withdraw consent: withdraw consent from an optional processing activity that relies on your consent, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
• Opt out of marketing communications: use the unsubscribe option in an optional promotional email or contact us. Essential account, security, billing, and transactional communications may continue while relevant.
• Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising: DarkRomanceWrite does not conduct these activities.
• Appeal: appeal a decision we make regarding an eligible privacy request where applicable law provides an appeal right.
• Complain to an authority: contact the privacy or consumer-protection authority responsible for your place of residence.

You can directly review or modify certain information through your account settings and can use the Service controls to export or delete available User Content.

We will not deny Service, charge a different price, provide a lower quality of Service, or otherwise unlawfully discriminate against you because you exercised a privacy right.

A legitimate difference resulting directly from your request — such as being unable to provide an account after you permanently delete it — is not discriminatory treatment.

This section supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy for California residents. It does not state that every California privacy statute necessarily applies to Lilith Studios at every stage of its business.

Categories of personal information

During the preceding 12 months, where applicable to the operation and use of the Service, Lilith Studios may have collected the following categories of personal information:

• Identifiers: name or pen name, email address, account identifier, authentication identifier, IP address, device identifier, and provider transaction or request identifiers.
• Customer-record information: account, profile, contact, subscription, and billing information.
• Protected classification information: birth year and, when necessary for age eligibility, birth month and day.
• Commercial information: selected plan, purchases, subscriptions, renewals, refunds, cancellations, Soma balances, and Soma transactions.
• Internet or electronic activity: browser, device, network, authentication, session, feature-use, request, security, and performance information.
• Electronic content: User Content, imported material, support communications, attachments, screenshots, and any excerpt you voluntarily send to us.
• Inferences: limited fraud, trial-eligibility, account-security, and technical-risk signals.
• Sensitive personal information: account login credentials and related authentication or security information.

Fictional User Content may contain sensitive themes. We do not treat those themes as factual information about the author and do not use them to infer sensitive personal characteristics.

We do not collect biometric information, precise geolocation, government identification numbers, professional or employment information, or education information as standard requirements for using DarkRomanceWrite.

The sources of this information are described in Section 6. The purposes for collecting and using it are described in Sections 7 through 10. The categories of service providers and other recipients are described in Section 11.

Sale, sharing, and advertising

During the preceding 12 months, Lilith Studios has not:

• sold personal information;
• shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;
• used sensitive personal information for advertising or unrelated profiling;
• disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes; or
• had actual knowledge that it sold or shared personal information belonging to anyone under 16.

Lilith Studios does not offer a financial incentive in exchange for permission to collect, sell, or share personal information. Trials, Somas, subscriptions, and promotional benefits are connected to use of the Service and are not payments for personal information.

Because we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, DarkRomanceWrite does not require a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link under its present practices.

California rights

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California residents may have the right to:

• know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected;
• know the sources, purposes, and categories of recipients;
• request deletion, subject to applicable exceptions;
• request correction of inaccurate personal information;
• obtain portable copies of eligible information;
• opt out of sale or sharing;
• limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information; and
• receive equal treatment when exercising these rights.

Our current practices do not involve the sale, advertising-related sharing, or unrelated use of sensitive personal information that would require those opt-out or limitation controls.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits certain residents to request information about disclosures made for third parties' own direct-marketing purposes. Lilith Studios does not make those disclosures.

To submit an access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or other privacy request, email privacy@darkromancewrite.com.

Your request should identify:

• the email address associated with your account;
• the right you wish to exercise;
• your state or country of residence when relevant to the request; and
• enough information to understand the scope of your request.

Do not send your password, complete payment-card information, or full manuscript. We will never ask you to disclose your password or an entire manuscript to exercise a privacy right.

To protect your account, we may verify your identity through an authenticated account control, confirmation sent to the account email address, recent reauthentication, or another proportionate method. We will request only the information reasonably necessary for verification.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law. We may request evidence of the agent's authority and may ask you to verify your identity or directly confirm the authorization.

We will acknowledge, evaluate, and respond to verified requests within the period required by applicable law. We may deny or limit a request when we cannot reasonably verify identity, when an exception applies, when fulfilling the request would adversely affect another person's rights, or when information must be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or a valid claim.

If we deny an eligible request, we will explain the reason where required. To appeal, email privacy@darkromancewrite.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal" and identify the original request.

We do not charge a fee for an ordinary privacy request. We may charge a reasonable fee or decline repetitive, manifestly unfounded, excessive, or abusive requests only where permitted by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service, our providers, security practices, legal requirements, or information-handling practices.

The effective or last-updated date displayed at the top of the Policy identifies the applicable version.

For a material change, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or through another appropriate method before the change takes effect when required by law.

We will request consent before applying a materially different use of personal information where applicable law requires consent. Earlier versions may be retained for legal and compliance records.
